Don't hate my movie just cuz I'm a Racist
Sorry for the delay in site updates. I am having internet troubles.
When I was a kid growing up in the Draught stricken wasteland of 1980s Missouri, my favorite movie was The Road Warrior. I could identify with the long stretches of desolation, not to mention the impending threat of nuclear war that hung over the Reagan years made the post apocolypse seem like one of the better futures I could hope for.
It wasn’t till later that I saw the original film in the trilogy Mad Max. I was a lot less impressed but as I grew older I came to appreciate it. One thing always kept me from buying the film though. Every version of it released in north America overdubbed the entire soundtrack with american actors. Apperantly Mel Gibson’s accent was just too thick for us to handle.
When DVDs first came into being and multiple language tracks where the norm I had 2 great hopes that The Godzilla films, and Mad Max would finally get proper releases with their original audio tracks. Neither happened right away. Now as the DVD era begins to end both have come to pass. Finally a nice Anamorphic DVD with the original austrailian audio track is here. Best of all I got Mad Max special edition for $5 at target!
I’ll post a full review when I have time to sit down and watch it.
