Who ever told you that casually browsing the web is a waste of time is very, very wrong.
Yesterday was such a day where I was casually surfing the web without any pre-determined intention and I came across a listing on Kotaku about the Indie Games Festival`s finalists.
Despite being the 2008 list I still took a peek, seeing as there were some pretty good games on the list I did know such as the highly-intelligent puzzle platformer Braid but most importantly allot I DIDN’T know !
At the end of my journey into the un-hyped world of indie games I settled down on a game known as Crayon Physics is remarkably simple game which looks as simple as the name suggests.

The object of the game is to guide a little ball in each level to collect a star, doing so requires guiding your ball trough a level to reach it. The ball can only be pushed left or right with a slight nudge, but getting it to the star involves creating objects from thin air simply by drawing them to use as aids
to get you trough your goal. You can draw anything you want and have it materialized, each object will have physics properties so often you find yourself creating swings, swiveling hammers and other contraptions just to get that ball where it needs to go, each and every level is it’s own little puzzle and whilst they never get overly complex; they’re still some that you’ll have to wrap your mind around to clear.

The graphics are simple, yet it still looks gorgeous and the accompanying soundtrack is spot on; soothing low-key music that’s never intrusive but always pleasantly present.
I can talk about it all I want but the best way for you to get it is simply to watch the added movie below.
Better yet just download the demo at their main website !
For those that have an iPhone; the game can also be purchased for the iPhone on the appstore, there isn’t a native Mac OSX version out (yet) tough so your only alternative to the iPhone is the Windows version.
Crayon physics was developed by a single guy representing kloonigames and is well worth the 20$ price of admission.
